Left side cats, 12 valves

I was killing some time with the salesman at the local VW dealer yesterday,
he runs a 93 90, I have a 93 100. I mentioned the only big expense I have
had was a left side cat. Found an aftermarket for about $325, compared to
audi's $900.

Well, he had similar experience but, after trying to get Audi to respond to
any of his communciations for months, went to the local Audi dealer who
said, oh yea, we can replace that for FREE! Which they did.

So, screw AoA, found a friendyl dealer, is that an oxymoron, and you may be
home free. The left side cats on these 12 valve were notorously weak, seems
there is some kind of quiet recall practice.
