Treeline Rally Results
We had hoped to repeat our overall win like last year, but it was no to
be. The day started off well enough but we broke our left rear axle (the
one I was unable to identify & had to repair after Prescott) about 17
miles into the 65 mile rally. We soldiered on in 3WD (thanks to those
locking differentials !!) but could not keep up the pace to lead. Rui's
S2 blew a radiator hose which put him out of the running time wise.
Lauchlin O'Sullivan had recently purchased a 4000TQ rally car & moved
into the lead until a fuel pump failure sidelined him in stage 4. Paul
Timmerman's 323GTX lost a tranny on stage 1 for which he recieved the
"Bomb Out Award" for being the first to drop out. Tony Chavez won with
his Mitsubishi Galant VR-4, with us bringing up a distant 2nd overall/
2nd 4WD. We will see what happens in Lauglin next month at the Laughlin
International Rally-hope some of you can make it out to see the Audis-
