Buying Advice Request: '86 5KTQ

Hey,
    I just found the number for someone selling an '86 5KTQ and wanted some
advice. The car in the pic looks to be nice, with the Fuchs Aero rims and
everything. Mileage was not listed, but it does have black leather, 5spd,
sunroof etc. so it is decently optioned out.

    Frankly, most of my car knowlege is about VWs, and not of Audis. I am
looking for an affordable winter car, but am not all that afraid of repair
costs. I can do some myself.

    Any ideas what I should look for as right or wrong with the car, and
mileage etc. I am betting this car is pre-Torsen. Also, the guy did not list
a price, and said to make an offer. I am considering offering $2000 if over
100K miles, and $2500 if below. Is this reasonable? Just curious.-G
