Dave, 
     This is a common failure mode. I wrote about it a few weeks ago.
Exactly the same problem. I think Igor's 200 did the same thing. The
little plastic bit washer shaped piece breaks after a certain number of
years. 
     Igor replaced his rod, I haven't gotten around to it yet. When (and
if) I get the time, I will try to fix the original rod or replace it
completely. If you figure out a elegant repair to the original rod,
please post to the list. 
     NOTE: People, if your throttle is suddenly giving you more
resistance than is normal...DO NOT force it. Pull over and see what the
problem is. The throttle linkage is binding somewhere. 
     P.S. For those owners who haven't experienced this yet, perhaps you
can save yourself the aggrevation by checking the prop rod plastic
washer type ring. If it is cracked, perhaps some adhesive/glue will save
it?
