Re: misfiring, or not firing on all cylinders9try this0

another problem that could be happening when someone says a cylinder is not
firing is that the injector may not be functioning. You can check the plug
wires(spark plug) by pulling one lose at a time at the distributor. It will
tell you if a cylinder is dead if when the wire is off there is no change in
idle or running smoothness. If you don' t detect a change then check the
injector by sticking a long screwdriver on the injector and use the other end
at a stethoscope. Just put your ear on it, you should be able to hear the
injector firing(clicking). Listen carefully sicne you will also hear some of
the other noises of the engine through the screwdriver. If you don't have a
long enough screwdriver try a long extension for a rachet. If you here the
all injectors firing then pull out plugs and replace or you can check them
also, but not recommended. Pull them out then have someone turn over the car
a park should appear across the gap in bottom of plug. ****** I don't
recommend this for a car though. ******
