Maybe no parts were brought in via the dealer network, as 
the tranny is treated as an assembly.  Typical Audi BS.

ZF is great when it comes to their industrial transmissions, on 
the passenger car side, their customer service sucks almost
as much as their trannies do.

I'm not sure, but I think BMW has training on the ZF boxes.  When I
helped a friend change the valve body in his V8 (in the archives
somewhere, all it needed was one solenoid), we got the majority 
of the parts from a local rebuilder who matched up parts from his
ZF (BMW) stock.  The only difference in the harness was the type of
terminal connectors used.

The place I got the parts (Brookline Transmission) was sold a few 
years ago. The new owner is, well, lets be nice and say he's not 
as accomodating.
