Not assisted by some errors in Audi's documentation.

Microfiche D 000.5147.30.00 "Fahrwerk Allradantrieb Ausgabe 07.87"
gives the ur-quattro track value as " zero degrees +55'/-10' " on the
front axle.

This should really be " +5'/-10' " - Audi's correction is in Merkblatt
000.5147.31.00 dated 03.88

50 min of a degree is a fair error.

It pays not only to ensure that your aligner is working to nominal
rather than just tolerance specs - it pays to make sure (really sure)
that he knows what the specs really are.

And my memory was correct (D 000.5147.31.00):

             "Bei _Einstellarbeiten_ sind die angegebenen
Sollwerte so genau wie moeglich anzustreben."

(The emphasis in the above is Audi's.)
