Re: 5k shifter bushing?
On the coupe there is a big sorta plastic bearing assembly, costs about
$60, that keeps the pivot area of the shift lever in place. Yours must
be falling apart, like they do every 150,000 miles or so. On the coupe
it bolts to the body sheet metal. the shifter still works when they
fail but symptoms are as you describe.
It wouldn't be called a spacer-bushing. My fiche calls mine a "ball
housing".
