Synth oil will last longer than mineral oils.  How much longer depends on
your driving habits, driving conditions proper maintenance.  If you plan or
want to run it longer than recommended interval, oil analysis tests should
be run to see how far a synth will go in your engine.  Play it safe and
change per owner's manual, but note that some listers (including me) run
synth longer than the recommended interval. YMMV.
