RE: Sport quattros
there are no sport quattro's in nz, unless a "grey" uk import has made it
here without my knowledge. there is 1 '83 ex-mikkola a2 quattro being
re-built however, which is better i guess.
it has always been said that 4 more cars were made from pieces in the '87-88
timeframe. the jugeniski (sp) book states this also. the assumption was
that these cars were sold. interesting to hear that that might not be the
case.
however, i still consider the best route to a ur-sport is to get dialynx to
make one from your wr-donor car, and transfer a 20vt/torsen into it. as done
by the dialynx folks for the car tested in audi driver (v2/2). you will get
a better handling/driving car for a faction of the outlay, and be able to
tweak it to your hearts content without screwing the re-sale price.

Subject: Re: Sport quattros
I'm willing to bet that most of them are in the UK. A small
country with an unfair majority of fine quattros! I'll bet Phil
could
tell us at least how many Sport Quattros are registered in the UK.
I'd
sure like to know. I know most of the Ur-quattros are on that side
of
the pond. The brits have a keen liking to the car.
And, I think Dave Eaton could let us know whether any made it to
Australia or New Zealand. I doubt it. That leaves France, Germany,
and Italy as the major players. Maybee one or two in Canada???
I'm just wondering where all these cars went. I think all the
Sport quattros here were imported grey market cars. I don't think
they
ever went on sale here in the states.
