Quite a number were lost (destroyed) in competition - perhaps as many
as thirty. The official "sold to the public" figure was at one time
186, although a very small group of cars was assembled from parts
later on.

No, they're not here. We have around ten. AFAIK only one is a daily
driver and two are not driveable.

The "new arrivals" on the scene (about two cars a year) all come from
the Middle East. There are quite a few (up to twenty) in Switzerland,
where the ur-quattro was many times more popular per head of population
than anywhere else on the planet.

There is also a "Sport Owners Club" - based in Geneva (I think) and
German-speaking. Dues are payable in Swiss francs and are, apparemtly,
considerable. We had a joint meeting with the Sport owners a couple
of years ago at Woburn Abbey - 17 cars showed up, and they brought their
own flatbed.
