Re: Two door 4k panels, Parting out 5k Turbo
John,
Im truly amazed that someone responded so fast!
Im VERY interested in your 4k. Is it a rust bucket? wrecked? Just not
interested in it? What color?
My 4k two-door is a little ratty, but Ive got major plans in the works. The
items listed below I have already aquired, just trying to get time to put
everything together.
* 11" front brakes
* 15" bbs wheels w/205/50/15 tires
* Bilstien sport struts with adjustable 2 1/2" coil over conversion kit
* 2.0 litre 8v engine (using 16v block--oil sprayers in block for pistons)
* complete turbo,ex manifold, and intercooler from 5kt
* 2 1/2" turbo-back exhaust system
* rear disc brakes
* 85 4k complete dashboard
* custom shift linkage
* relocated battery (trunk)
I know its no quattro, but I have faith in front-wheel drive. Dodge has
proven front-drive and performance CAN mix--they kicked butt in American
SuperTouring, while it lasted.
One benefit of the manual trans 4k 4cyl is the driveshafts are exactly the
same length, which just about eliminates torque-steer.
I recently weighed my 4k at a public scale. 2170 lbs!!! (really!) with the
turbo, this thing will be a real screamer.
The 5cyl manifold and turbo literally bolt on. The extra cylinder just
hangs off the rear of the head. I used a small piece of steel to block it
off, and tapped it out for a pyrometer gauge. Anyone interested in this,
feel free to E-mail me.
Anyways, enough about my frankenstein-mobile. Tell me how much you want for
the door panels, the whole door, hell--the whole car!!
Thanks,
Chris Bishop
P.S. I am parting out my 84 5k turbo. The tranny went, and I didn't like it
enough to fix it. Straight body, (grey) tan leather int, power seats, auto
climate control, WHEELS, perfect dash, etc.
