Correct.  The ALZ is fitted with (almost) exactly the same physical
locking mechanism as earlier differentials - control is electrical
from the console with automatic disengage at ca. 30kph using a signal
from the drive train passed on by the ISV controller.  The same style
of vacuum reservoir bottle is fitted inside the left C pillar, but the
one-way valve is moved from the engine bay to under the rear seat.

I have no idea.  I also don't see, from the exploded diagrams in the
parts fiche, exactly _how_ any 'limited slip' function is implemented.

Fact remains, both the service and parts microfiche refer to the ALZ
differential as 'limited slip'.  The same differential is probably
fitted to the Torsen Type 44s - any experienced lister care to comment?
