Installed my new universal O2 sensors today (V6)
Finally got around to installing my universal O2 sensors on my '92 100S this
evening. Job took a couple of hours, and was pretty simple. On the passenger
side, only had to remove the hose connecting the air box to the engine and
loosen a clamp to get to the sensor. Nothing had to be removed on the
driver's side. Car seems to run smoother at idle with the new sensors. Will
have to see if the fuel mileage increases when I fill up the next time. The
sensors I used were the Bosch 3 wire heated O2 sensor, part # 13913. The
sensor on this unit was identical to the OEM sensor (Bosch also) I removed
from my car. No differences I could see. I cannot believe Audi charges an
extra $80 per sensor just for the wiring harness (well actually I can,
knowing Audi). I picked my sensors up from IPS for $38 apiece, but found out
today while at AutoZone picking up the sensor socket that they sell the same
sensor for $38 also.
