spitting exhaust/high HC resolved

Car is 87 5kcst

After many agonizing weeks, I finally tracked down the problem to a bad
injector.  Getting that thing out is a story in itself, but the injector had a
spray pattern that was just pathetic, like it was peeing.  Hunted around and
found a replacement metal tipped injector (metal ones are no longer available
and you can't mix injectors, says the Bentley) at a local foreign parts shop.
PN ends in 043. Upon testing, the new injector sprayed a beautiful, fine mist.
Now the idle (and the exhaust) is greatly smoothed out.  Isn't it amazing what
having all five cylinders firing right will do for you?   I just hope the cat
hasn't been too stressed from all that time with partial combustion.
