NO, you don't have the "old fashioned" controller, you 
have the "new, old fashioned controller".  Like yours,
the Delco Climate control in the V8Q is a joy in it's
reliability.  It's bastard first cousin, the Delco
Climate Control in the '84 5KS is a whole other
story....
