Re: Ball Joints on 1995 90 Q Sport
I just recently had to get new ball joints and upper strut mounts right
and left on my '93 90...how many miles do you have on your 90? 3 years
doesn't seem like a lot of time for things like ball joints, but shot is
shot. I think that side-to-side (or is it back-and-forth? I can't
remember, except that it's not up-and-down) means bad ball joints. When
I had mine done, my mechanic showed me the ones that he took off the
car, and I could move them around with almost no effort; then he showed
me some new ones, and I could barely move them at all.
Take the car to the dealer if it's under warranty, save a few bucks.
Maybe they'll even do it right! Be sure to get the car aligned by a
reputable shop after the work is done--take note of camber especially;
make sure it's adjusted--a lot of shops can't adjust the camber on the
90. Don't let them just ignore it! Perhaps your dealer can do that as
well.
