My 4K and 5KT do this too, but the A4's temperature gauge is rock
solid in the center after warming up no matter what the driving condition.
I think this is because the earlier Audis rely only on natural air
flow (and the electric cooling fan) through the radiator, while the
later cars now have an engine-driven fan too...
