It varies with the light.

My type 44 turbo lights, Bosch units, are like:

____/_ /_____

Others have said that the Hella unit has a slightly different pattern.

Haven't had a chance to aim them properly(or put in the harness, I've been 
so busy; I'm not running the aux driving lights yet.)  Right now the 
slanted parts overlap slightly, causing a bright center spot that's very 
annoying.  They're also a tad low; the high beams are hitting the ground 
way too soon.
