plastic over headlights?

Anyone know what would be the best plastic to build a cover for my
headlights?  SHould be fairly reasonable to work with, fairly resistant
to sandblasting (but ok to replace every year... I guess).  I think it
would look better than raw round headlights, and it would offer some
stone protection (especially since one of my hella H4 lenses is cracked
and I may spring for a pair of Cibie's to replace them - big $$)
