Re: 93-97 100q/A6q questions

Well, I'm glad you asked.....
I recently purchased a '95 A6QW slushbox with 39K, and the tranny
is *already* giving me problems. My 3-4 shift under light load flares,
sometimes up to 5K RPM, before dropping into 4th. The (!*&@#(*!&@*#(!&@#
dealer told me "don't shift into DRIVE until up to speed". The Audi
rep actually laughted at this "advice".
I would NEVER have bought a slushbox if I had had a choice. I needed
the wagon, and the only wagon sticks are S6's (or pre-'92 100's).
Other than that, it seems fine to me. Car is in good shape, drives
pretty nicely considering it's soft-as-jello family wagon tires and
shocks (being replaced next year).
If you want a sedan, I looked at a nice '95 A6Q sedan with a stick
and grey cloth interior. Woulda bought it in a hot minute, except
the dog's gotta ride somewhere!
