 I don't know but my '98 model Uniden with LCD readout works
pretty darn well (saved my but everytime except pacing..)
I picked up laser once as I was coming over a hill had a chance to nail
the brakes.. got down to speed in time before it went nutss so yes 
it is possible to get  a laser warning but beware you have to be quick!!
