    From what I recall the interior latch is cable activated. You can pull
the latch handle assembly out of the door by removing the phillips screw -
this is usually hidden under a plastic trim cap. On my car, the cable end
had popped out of the retaining clip (due to moisture in the cable which had
frozen, but that repair is another story). If the problem is not with the
interior handle assembly, you will have to pull the door panel to see what
is going on.
