Syncro Pst Review: R&T

Well,

I suppose VW has let the cat out of the bag...finally. This month's R&T
magazine has a typically boring and rather uninformative review test of the
Subby Outback v. Volvo V70 awd v. A4 Avant q v. VW Passat GLS syncro.
Although, it's likely to be difficult finding mention of the "syncro" name
anywhere, the drivetrain is listed as awd and the lovely cutaway pics they
do show the rear diff in all its glory. (Syncro is finally mentioned in the
summary). They didn't even have enough sense to show the rear badging, so
the only giveway are the wheels really...and those are available as options.

Funny how the dealers are telling me the GLX will be the first incarnation
and that these are delayed indefinitely. That should change soon. The
article is very general, and even lacks accurate pricing (unless VW has
changed this again). To their credit they do mention the Quantum in one
sentence...but only to scoff.

Guess the decision will have to come at some point. Kind of like the idea
of a PES blower supercharged stealth syncro. But this GLS is with auto
still...sigh.

P.S. Saw the 540i sport wagon today. Candle-less next to A4avt or even
Passat IMHO.
