RE: '85 4000SQ FMV

HI Harry,
Unfortunately I don't thin you will be able to sell for what you have
inverted. For the average car buyer at 191k a car is used up. I don't
think that includes anyone on the list. Then we are not your average car
buyer's. I would price it around $2500, see if you get any takers.
Unless you want to sell it quick then maybe $1700? Where are you located?
In Vermont there seems to be a lot of 4kq's. I think the high school kids
have taken a liking to them. So it may be worth a little more $$. I
dunno. My 4kq just turned 200k and sprung a gas leak. It's parked for
now. While I decide what to do. Invest more $$$. Something tells me this
is not going to be a cheap problem to fix. Then again it is time for a
fuel filter change.

Best Regards,
John

Thanks to everyone who responded to my 4000 vacuum pump rod question-the
problem has been solved.

Now, I'm thinking about selling the car to make room for my next quattro
(either a 90CSQ or maybe a 1.8T A4Q). I already have a potential buyer
lined-up and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on a fair value.

The specs are as follows:

1985 4000S quattro

191,000 miles
Red on Grey cloth interior.

The paint/body is in good condition (no dents/dings).
Recent complete service
Lifters, water pump and timing belt replaced recently
New tires
4 Lloyds floor mats
Sony CD player

Thanks,

Harry
