Just a warning about Redline. I just switched over to synthetic myself and was
told that the problem with Redline is that it will "gel up" if mixed with
petroleum products. I wonder of that's what happened to you. Also it is considered
hazardous material therefore disposing it is more difficult.. I was recommended
Amsoil gl5 75w-90 Series 2000. Audi doesn't recommend gl5 because it's corrosive
properties, but the additives that Amsoil uses are safe untill a very high
temperature from gl2 through gl5 I believe.
