I seem to recall that Audi pulled the "check engine" light bulb out of
the '89 models because of random illuminations that were driving the owners
crazy ( sound familiar?). My '91 200q does not have a check engine light - I
have to use an LED to pull the codes. Any other listers have more info on
this? I think the info was posted about a year ago.
