Re: 3B owners -- check your hoses!



I rerouted the bypass control hose around the perimeter of the engine
bay so it wouldn't melt again. I didn't even have to take the shroud off
to find that it was bad. Just a light tug on one side of the hose and
the melted crusty remains pulled out. The hose had disentegrated into
two parts. Note: the bypass valve was also shot, so yours may have been
as well.  Stalling when slowing down and pushing in the clutch can be a
symptom of a non-functional 3B bypass valve. Also, you can test your
valve by trying to blow and suck air through it with your mouth. I found
that I couldn't blow or suck hard enough to open a new valve. The old
valve I could suck air through one way, but not the other.
