Oh, oh, wait a minute. Mulling this over in bed last night, I recalled
suddenly that, while almost every other hose, sensor and component is either
new or refurbished, the complex rubber pipe in which I found the oily soot
was re-used from the old 200. I can't say with certainty that the inside
was thoroughly cleaned before re-using. So it might be that the oily soot I
found on my fingertips when I swiped the inside of the pipe was leftover
from the old engine. Engine, BTW, is running fine, with the exception of a
slightly wandering cold idle, and, still, lower than expected boost in 1st
and 2nd. (10-11 lbs., max. by the mechanical gauge)
