Re: "96 4KQ timing belt paranoia
On my '86 4kq I broke my cam belt in third gear WOT about 5k rpm..
pulled over, called girlfriend, got tools and belt and had it changed
and running in under a hour...
I would take off the cover or at least pry it back with screwdriver to
inspect the belt... if it has cracks (mine did) replace it!!
