re : HELP! I HAVE A CHEAPO FLOOR JACK!!
Just a couple of generalizations.
The best jack I ever used was a Snap-On 2.5 ton.
Cost $350.
My current jack is a Prolift 2.5 ton from Walmart. Cost
$69. 2.5 yrs old, still every bit as good as the Snap-On.
My jack before that was a 2.25 ton from Advance Auto.
$129. Lasted one day.
The 2.5 versions which release by turning the handle
seem to be of a much higher quality than the 2.25's
(which generally have a seperate valve to lower).
Aybody with similar observations?
