Take it off and shove it into a commercial degreaser.  Soon clear out
any crud.

Make sure your "synth" is heavy enough.  The Mobil web site carries the
closest thing to a dire warning about using Mobil 1 0Wanything or
5Wanything in high performance applications.  Around here, if you ask
for Mobil 1 they'll give you 0W40 or 5W40 by default - these oils are 
NOT suitable for Audi turbos.
