Re: S4 Bose Stereo Question

I had an Eclipse put into my '93 90CS and had the same problem,
but the stereo shop used the pre-outs for the rear speakers
since they were powered(non-bose). The sounded excellent.
But, after about 5 or 6 months I started getting a winding
noise in sync with the engine.(Like a grounding problem). Well
I brought it in and they switched the wiring to the 2x powered
like you talked about, and it sounded worse, but the noise was
gone. I'm currently in the process of putting my eclipse into
my newly acquired '95 S6. I going to try the pre-out method
and see how it goes. I might consider the harness from
Crutchfield if I can get some more technical details on it. If
I was going to keep my 90CS I think I would change out the
speakers and wiring, but I'm going to try to use the Bose
       speaker system on the S6.

Hi Listers... I have a question about the Bose system in my 1994 S4. I want
to upgrade to a better head unit and I'm willing to relinquish the digital
readout on the dash board for an in dash CD (Eclipse head unit) My question
is about the amplified Bose speaker system. As most Eclipse decks are
amplified or even considered "high power" how will this effect the sound
quality, or better yet can I use a powered deck at all? I cant really find
anything on this in the Bentley, so I leave it to the pro's on the list. Any
help greatly appreciated!!
