Fun with a Gtech

A coworker just got a Gtech Pro before getting shipped to Switzerland, so on
his way out the door he lent it to me. I had been contemplating buying one
for myself, so it was nice that I could try before I buy ...

I still have to test with the other cars, but this morning I stuck it on the
V8q and did a couple 0-60 runs ... it seems that I can get times in the
6.6-6.8 second range without that much work. I don't think I've ever seen
test numbers for the 5-speed V8 to know if this is what I should expect or
not, but it was pretty fun. :-)

I found a nice flat, straight road with minimal obstacles for running near
my house, so I guess tonight I'll be trekking out there with a couple other
cars ... :-)

All in all I find it to be a cute toy, but I'm wondering if I really want to
plunk down $140 for one. It is too bad that you can't adjust the start and
stop speeds for the timer so that you can do things like 30-60 runs and
such. I do understand that by the restrictions of the design it will always
be necessary to start a measurement from a stopped position.
