I don't think that there is any problem with you selling a few miscellaneous
items that you happen to have lying around via a post to the list. Many
qlisters do it and many list members benefit from the "direct" prices. I
must say that I seem to be more in the purchasing mode rather than selling
... hopefully that will change soon! :-)
The place where there is a problem (IMO) is if you are running a for profit
business and you regularly post information about items that are for sale.
The problem stems from the fact that in this case you are in effect getting
free advertising to a targeted audience ;). There are a number of vendors
who are subscribed to the list ... they tend to be a fantastic resource to
the list in providing information in regards to fixing problems or getting
part numbers ... let me take this opportunity to thank you all for being
here and helping out. In many cases we need you more than you need us!
Another thing that some vendors have done is to post when they have some
unusual part available in limited quantities or for a good price or a
special sale for list members. Most all of the real advertising for them
(and other non-scrubsided vendors) is word of mouth from satisfied
customers.

... from my point of view, what you have stated is pretty close to my ideal
for intention on q-list posts!
