mix and match tyres

the time has come to replace the 2 rear tyres of the wagon.  problem is that
the sp8000's are no longer available in nz.  time to go with the sp9000, or
the s02 pp's (which i have on the quattro).

questions:
1)	anyone with experience of the differences between the sp8000-->
sp9000 upgrade like to comment?
2)	anyone want to comment about the advisability of running 8000's on
the rear and 2 new tyres on the front with a different compound/tread.  yeah
i know....
