86 4kq instrument lights

The left side of my instrument panel is dark - obviously a bulb has
blown. My question is how to replace the bulb. In my old Plymouth I just
reached under the dash and felt around for a socket and pulled out the
spent bulb. Is the procedure that simple on the Audi or is there
something special I should know about?  Of course I would disconnect the
battery before any electrical work.
Sorry for such a simplistic question but it sure beats paying $70/hr for
service.
