Re: S4 Reliability?
It seems the reliability for Audi's really shot up when the cars were
redesigned in 93( the people I have known with audis have had nothing but good
to say about them, except for the price of parts when occassionally needed).
I had a great 93 90csq and was extremely happy, except for the fact and
interior bulb went out on one of the switchs( too much trouble to change out).
Also I have been really happy about my A4, except for my CV joints going bad.
The only reason these went bad is for the fact of the boots ripping and that
can happen at any time on any car
(remember to check them every couple of months). From watching the positngs
for the last year, I have not seen too many major problems with the newer
audis.
It also seems that with that amount of miles on a car of that vintage, it
would be highway mileage and that is not too bad for wear and tear on a car.
If all the car did was travel you can't really go wrong, especially if they
will work with the price since it does have a somewhat high milage.
Teh biggest concern I would have is the turbo's, you might want to have them
checked out. In the past those used to go out with age, on other
manufactures. I know knothing good or bad for the turbos used in audis.
The greatest thing to say about your chance, is look at the great car you are
getting and the fun times it will give you.
