80 Turbo rolls again!

Hello humans:

Finally got the new (used) gearbox in the project car. (Needed after the
last one was apparently mishandled by an "expert" at a transmission repair
facility.) Seems to work fine. The interesting thing is that 2nd gear in
the new box is smooth as silk when cold, something I could never get rid of
on my old box. I tried Red Line and even a new syncro! Maybe this all
worked out for the better. BTW, After the owner of the shop only paid for
half of the replacement box, I turned the facts about the destroyed gearbox
over to the Bureau of Automotive Repair. They assigned an arbitrator to
assist in finding an acceptable solution. I'll let you know when I learn
more.

Gave the car a good couple of shakedown runs last week, including an
encounter with a late model M3 on my favorite on ramp. (similar to the
Carousel at Sears Point in Sonoma Ca.) He seemed a little upset when he
couldn't come close to losing a "stock" Audi 80.

Now, if I could only find a place to mount a boost gauge.
