Draggin' a V8 (draggin a left brake caliper that is :')

Hello all,
	Just wanted to ask a question about the rear brakes on a 90' 
V8Q.  I have heard through the grape vine that the rear brakes on a V8 
are somewhat the same as the rest of the Audi world TRUE OR FALSE?????
Anyway, I am having a problem with a left rear brake caliper 
intermittently dragging to the point where it makes the rotor a nice 
shade of red.  Sometimes it drags and sometimes it's free as a bird.  
Needless to say I have had my mechanic tear the caliper apart several 
times and has found no major visible malfunction but he did say that 
the first time he took it apart, it was slow to release.  Could this be 
a result of a rubber brake like collapsing internally and building 
pressure or something to that effect>?????
