For the 5K and possibly for you V8 you can get at the dealer plastic tabs
that you can put on the ABS wheel sensors. The plastic tabs give you the
correct gap without any screwing around. Works like a champ.

Mark- When I changed my CV joint boots, upon reinstalling, I just pushed the
the abs sensors all the way in, and backed them out a bit. Have worked ok
