for future reference--tire size on an UrQ
hey all, i have recently found out that a 16x7 wheel with an offset of
ET45 will fit with 205/55/16 tires. There is about a key's width (the
narow way, if you lay it down flat), between the tie rod end and the
tire, but there isnt any rubbing that i can ever hear.
Anyway, here is the question then: I have been looking at wider tires
for a real upgrade as i really want to splurge this once, and i think i
found the tire im going to buy. Its the Yokohama Nexus, only 135 bucks
in 225/50/16 size. Yeah, i would like to go with a 225/45 or 225/40, but
it isnt available in that. Since it got such incredibly high ratings
from tire rack, on the order of about 9.4-9.6 for grip and such, compared
to an 8.4 or so for the sport 8000's, i just have to give them a shot,
and they arent that expensive.
Anyway, does anyone know if they would fit? If not, what size spacer
should i get to go between the wheel and the brake?
if this isnt plausable for some reason, then i duno, any other ideas for
tires?
later...
