RE: Tires

The 195/60/14's were stock on the 4k quattro. The non-q 4k, which is the
car the original post specified, had 185/60/14's as a stock tire. The
195/50/15 is the proper + 1 size upgrade for the 185/60/14. VW owners know
these by heart, 175/70/13 = 185/60/14 = 195/50/15 (diameters of 22.65",
22.74", & 22.68" respectively). The 195/55/15 is the farthest away with a
diameter of 23.44" resulting in a 3% error or just over 2 mph at an
indicated 70 mph. The 205/50/15 is closer but at 23.07" still taller than
the original 185/60/14.

Of course, these are all theoretical sizes. The 195/50 and 205/50 are both
good choices. The 195/55 is the worst case but even then the effects on
acceleration and speed won't be that noticeable. Ultimately the choice will
depend on brand and model of tire, clearance, price, and availability in the
specific sizes.
