Air fright - er, air freight (No Audi content)

Last year a friend of mine in the UK inquired about emu meat - could I
get/send/bring him some?

Planning a trip there, I figured I could bring it along - I can buy it
frozen, in vac-packs. Since it wouldn't stay frozen on an 8 hour flight, I
thought about a cooler with dry ice - called Virgin Atlantic, they had no
particular problem, but suggested that I call HM Customs.

Well, Her Majesty's Customs had a BIG problem - and suggested that if I
showed up at Heathrow with it, they'd take it away from me and throw me in
the gaol! This *WAS* at the height of the BSE scare . . .

He'll have to wait until he gets here to enjoy it!

And once I had occasion to take a frying pan in hand luggage on a flight -
ever see how many sirens go off when the metal detector sees an object the
size of a cast iron skillet?
