Yes, quite recently on my '89 100Q.

The BMW parts does NOT work. The MB part may work, although I
have heard there is some machining involved.

Jim at Blau sells a 100% drop-in replacement for $159, which
is what I ended up with. Just slid in perfectly, no trimming
required at all.
