Thanks to all for the replies. Here's the scoop: I had two problems.

The door switches actually have two contacts (three connections, including
ground), though they both engage at the same time. A disassembly revealed
no corrosion, but a thorough cleaning solved the problems with the dome
light, etc.

It also looks like there's a bad connection somewhere on the IC PCB,
which is causing the intermittent and "scratchy" sounding binger. I still
have to track this one down and repair it.
