Dan,

If the lock won't turn on the passenger side, it's probably frozen.
Lock De-icer ought to fix you up :-)

As far as the infamous spinning cylinder, BTDT on my old 89 100 Sedan,
beware that even though the door doesn't unlock your turning the factory
alarm on and off!!!

When you do get that passenger door open you'll probably have to lock and unlock
again to toggle the alarm off.

They work great when they're working.....  I've never had them fail to defrost
the lock...
