I
found that the RED lead has power all the time.

1A. On your car originally there was only a constant power lead and there is
no switched power lead. If you need a switch you can use the wire to your
rear defrost switch or blower fan or this is the best your annoying door
buzzer.

 2. There is a black lead that seems to only be carrying a few volt (i.e.,
2-3VDC). What is that one for?

2A. I think that is for your background lighting not sure check with some
others on that one. It could also be pwr. att.

 3. I know that the antenna need power to work. What lead supplies power to
 the antenna amplifier.

3A. To contradict what I just said this wire should be white. If you want to
make things easier on your self you can buy a kit to convert you old stock
wiring to the new Blaupunkt 8-8-10 ISO block connectors then you have no
guessing to do. This is available from dealer and to go to a real Blau deck
you have to change the power block a little bit E-mail me for details.

The unit that I put in is a Blaupunkt Vegas. I have listened to it in CD
mode and boy does it sound a lot better then the original head unit. and
would
you believe that it slides right into the original opening. Crutchfeild said
that it would not fit, so I was quite supprised when the "keys" worked to get
the old unit out and the new unit slide right in and locked into the original
mounting frame. Any help with the wiring would be greatly appreciated. Now
it is timeto go watch some Paris Dakar highlights.

OK I was trying to make a point I think this is one thing I know about
Volkswagen's and Audi's. I am welcoming all of you to ask me any questions. I
am OK with Wire colors but not always positive. I do know how to give you a
hip setup for a Stereo as per people are amazed at what I did with my Audi.
