Brake light problem on urq

Q-listers,

Just a question for anyone who may have a little advice. My urq has 
recently started blowing the brake light fuse intermittently. The brakes 
lights work fine and the rear lights are properly grounded (even with 
aux. strap). I checked the continuity and it appears to be fine, as well 
as the rear connections at the lights. Also, there is virtually no signs 
of corrosion at the rear circuit boards. I even replaced the brake 
switch with an extra one.

The problem appears to be a large draw occasionally when the brakes are 
first actuated. Ideas???

Any help would be appreciated as it was a little disconcerning driving 
home in the blowing snow waiting for the brake lights to go out with 
that semi behind me.
