audi 90 thanks, and more problems

Since I got her running she has been moving like a champ. I appreciate
all the responses I got from the list on the trouble codes.  However,
there are two other problems.  I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS.  Both passenger
and driver locks do not work.  I can't even open the front doors from
the outside.  I have to go through the backseat and release the door
handles from the inside.  When i go to lock the car with the key, the
key just turns freely in both directions.  Could it be the cylinder?
But why do the doors not open from the outside with the handles.  When
they are unlocked, the outside handle just lifts up but does nothing.
The dealer quoted me $150 to change both front door handles and locks.
Any other "cost effective" fixes.  The 90 is so rare to find in a
junkyard here in upstate NY.

Also, my defroster,  I notice that on the outer edges all the windows
there is a black strip with dots coming out.  This is for the defroster
right.  But the defroster does not work.  When I press the switch, the
triangle light comes on, but the rear window or side windows do not
defrost.  Could it be the switch or what, please help, any response
would be appreciated.
